The statement of purpose is a critical part of the CQC application process. It is required to be submitted alongside your application forms and will give the CQC some important information on your service.
This includes but is not limited to;
Personal and financial details
The company aims and objectives
The types of people you are looking to provide care for (your service user bands)
Relevant experience and qualifications of registered individuals
Location information
The CQC require this information to be able to get an overview of the service, prior to the more detailed application forms. They need addresses and details to be able to send correspondence in the short and long term. I would liken it to a cover letter for a job application in that it will give the CQC a quick overview of the service and the suitability of the 'candidates' (registered / nominated individuals).
Although the statement of purpose can be written from scratch, it is recommended to use the four part, downloadable version direct from the CQC website for ease of structure and completion.
